Collinsville Police Department Reserve Officer Program
The Collinsville Police Reserve Program was established in the spring of 2004 under the direction of the Chief of Police Charlie Annis. The Reserve Coordinator is Corporal Travis Linzy. Presently Collinsville has eight (8) Reserve Police Officers who have volunteered numerous hours to the city and community. Reserve officers do not receive any type of monetary compensation.
The requirements to become a reserve police officer are basically the same as those for a full time police officer. Reserve applicants must complete a State of Oklahoma CLEET-certified (160 hours) reserve police academy and undergo an extensive background investigation by the department. Final acceptance into the reserve program is at the discretion of the Chief of Police. Reserve Officers report to the Reserve Coordinator, Corporal Linzy, who reports directly to the Chief. Reserve Officers have full powers of arrest while on duty. The primary role of the reserves is to assist the regular officers in the performance of their duties. Reserves also perform patrol duties, transport prisoners to other jurisdictions, work special events in the city, and perform other duties as requested or directed by the Chief. Reserve Police Officers are required to work 16 hours per month averaged out over a six month peroid.
If you are interested in becoming a Reserve Police Officer with the Collinsville Police Department you can contact Cpl Travis Linzy at (918) 371-1000.
